When Gordon and Joanne Breau took over the RE/MAX franchise in Saint John in 1997, the company had 16 agents and operated from small leased office spaces.
Of the 16 original agents, those who remain today are known as the “Original 6.” True to the industry, RE/MAX Professionals invests in real estate, and believes in it, and now owns two large office buildings.
Gordon became involved in the company’s operation from day one, became broker in 1999, and continues to serve as President of the company. Joanne became a licensed Realtor in 2000, and is currently Secretary/Treasurer.
Under Gordon’s leadership, the business has grown to include 52 Realtors and has become the leader in market share for the Saint John area to an impressive 30-35%. As a forerunner in the real estate industry, RE/MAX adopted innovative technology and marketing programs to expand its reach through a revolutionary global listing site. With listings from more than 80 countries displayed in over 40 languages, RE/MAX agents have the opportunity to search and post listings internationally, making international transactions easier than ever.
At the heart of RE/MAX is a deep commitment to the communities in which we operate. Following Gordon’s lead and core values, RE/MAX Professionals have become leaders themselves in supporting their community, giving to local foodbanks, supporting local children’s hockey and baseball, and are proud supporters of the Saint John Sea Dogs. Many of the Realtors volunteer as coaches, assist in school programs, and spend time at the hospital with people in need. They hold positions with the Saint John Real Estate Board and the New Brunswick Real Estate Association, as well as several other local boards, to give back to their community.
Globally RE/MAX has developed the exclusive Miracle Home Program, which allows RE/MAX agents to directly donate a portion of their home sales toward quality healthcare for children. RE/MAX agents also contribute millions of dollars to the Children’s Miracle Network each year.
RE/MAX Professionals run an annual auction in support of the IWK. Each of the Realtors proudly contribute to the Children’s Miracle Network. This combined effort has made RE/MAX Professionals the top contributing RE/MAX office in Atlantic Canada for 4 consecutive years. With last years donation of $47,000.00 in support of IWK, the year to date total is over $400,000.00.
In 2016, RE/MAX Professionals were awarded the highest producing RE/MAX office for a population of 50,000-100,000, and also received the Telegraph Journal’s award for the top Real Estate company for the area.

Gordon Breau- Broker/Owner/President
More than just a broker, Gordon Breau is a modest leader of impeccable integrity with a soft-spoken yet direct demeanor. The model of diligence, honesty, and diplomacy, he is a supportive ally, a trusted confidant, and a caring family man.
With years of management experience paired with his easy-going personality, his genuine nature, and approachable disposition, Gordon was destined for success when he took over the RE/MAX franchise in 1997.
Gordon attributes the success of the company to “the people we have around us.” His ethical approach to business, his vast knowledge, caring nature, and around the clock support and guidance, attracts high caliber Realtors to the RE/MAX Professionals team. An exemplary role model, Gordon exceeds the standard and has earned the height of respect within the industry. With perseverance and determination, he, along with his wife and partner Joanne, have grown the business to where it is today, the leader of the industry in our area.

Carol Ann Caldwell – Office Administrator
Carol Ann is remarkably talented in her position as office administrator and is the backbone of the business. The epitome of efficiency and organization, with her positive energy and warm personality she brings order to our busy office, creating a welcoming atmosphere for agents, support staff and visitors. As a closing secretary, she is meticulous and with unparalleled ease, she readily accomplishes any task with perfect correctness. Carol Ann meets any challenge with a smile and can-do approach and has earned the respect of collogues, co-workers and business associates. An integral part of our RE/MAX family for 10 years, Carol Ann is so much more than an office administrator.
Christina Barrett – Administration
Christina brings with her a background in administration along with a vast skill set with a friendly, welcoming first impression to the office. She manages the front end of our office with ease. Her polished demeanour brings a professional touch, along with her organizational skills she makes work seamless and effortless when dealing with Realtors and clients. Christina will go out of her way to help our clients, Realtors and staff and is an imperative part of our RE/MAX team.
